Bull fleeing bullring shot dead

A young bull that managed to escape from a bullring in Marbella and went wandering around the town has been shot dead by police, who also hit him with their patrol car.

The bull injured a 72 year old woman, who has been taken to hospital. The woman was walking along the main street when the bull ran into her, although the woman was not gored.
A spokesperson for Marbella council said that the animal escaped while he was being loaded into a vehicle to take him away after having participated in a 'novillada' (bullfight with very young bulls) on Sunday.

The bull was forced to participate in these fights (animals in bullfights do not get to choose), and the fact that he escaped means that: animals feel fear, they suffer and do not want to die, and attempt to preserve their lives in any way possible. A reflection on the way we relate to them is both necessary and urgent, putting ourselves in their place and showing them solidarity.

This animal ended up being shot dead by police and hit by the patrol car, while fleeing from his exploiters, surely traumatised from the experiences he had in the bullring.
